Greetings from IADVL Academy!

IADVL Academy of Dermatology was formed in 2008 with Prof A K Bajaj as first Chairperson and Dr Arun Inamadar as its first convener. This step transformed the functioning of IADVL as a professional association particularly in reference to its educations and research initiatives. Its my proud privilege to take over as Chairperson of IADVL Academy for the year 2024 and 2025. I take this opportunity to thank the immediate past chairperson (Dr Lalit Gupta) and immediate past convener (Dr Rashmi Jindal) and entire Academy Team (2023-24) for the hard work and professionalism and setting a high standard of excellence in Academy. IADVL Academy (2024-25) will strive its best to build upon the strong foundation laid down by all erudite past chairpersons and conveners as we move forward.

Committed to fostering excellence in dermatology, IADVL Academy is excited to unveil ongoing and new educational initiatives tailored for professional growth of qualified Dermatologists across India. These encompass CMEs, workshops, research grants, Observership, training courses, scientific sessions in conferences like MIDDERMACON/DERMACON, E Library journal access, scholarships for national/international conferences and workshops and various educational activities planned under more than 15 special interest groups (SIGs) & Task forces. Postgraduate opportunities include PGCON, PG Thesis awards, grants, and PGPDT. New initiatives for this year include diverse programs like Inter-speciality Cross talk, International symposium series, Y (Young IADVL) Academy targeting young and early career dermatologists, Practitioner forum, SIG of the month activity and Academy (IADVL)-Community-Patient support group Initiative (ACP) and more. Updated guidelines, consensus statements, meta-analysis and publications in crucial areas will be top priority for SIGs/Task Forces for the benefit of IADVL members.  IADVL Academy with the support of President IADVL & National EC is in the process of launching ‘Academy Central’ an online submission and processing system for all the Academy activities to make the process seamless, and productive for IADVL members. This will be a progressive step in the working of Academy.

We urge all IADVL members to actively engage and take full advantage of these educational/ research initiatives.  Let us continue to foster a spirit of collaboration, dedication, and excellence in IADVL.
